One summer, a tornado destroyed our back fence and i had to build a new one.  I built it the old fashion way, with a hammer and nails.  It took me into the fall time to finish building it. 

It took so long that I vowed to never build a fence again.

When Harvey hit Houston, we lost our home and everything we had except for our dogs, a backpack of important papers and the cloths on our backs.  We ended up moving in with family and "starting over in life".  

I went to work for a small company repairing Harvy damaged homes.  One of the repairs i did was replacing a fence and i was hooked.  i love everything about everything.  it was fun, challenging and I enjoyed what I was doing. I loved the physical part and seeing the results of my efforts.

I went to work for a small family fence company in Houston. My foreman taught me everything i needed to know.  He taught me what to do, what not to do.  I learned all of the tricks, cheats and shortcuts. The company said they were all about quality,  But in the big picture, getting to the next job was their only priority... At some point, I learned that i did not like building fences that way.

I saw that our values did not align, so i started to offer my services on next-door where i learned there was more to it than just building fences.

I called it my relentless pursuit of perfection; I believed in delivering the highest quality product possible and offering everyone the best experience they ever had.  If they were not happy, i was not happy. 

Thanks to next door I was able to practice and perfect my craft. It has since been close to ten years and I still love what I do!!!
